Founded in 1982 as MICROSERVICIOS LTDA, the company is clearly focused on applying technology in Control solution development for Oil industry. Our motivation to diversify led us to offer maintenance and sales desktop computers and specialised software. Following the path of offering Control solutions but directed to Management. In 1996 we enter in DWH market as Business Control support as a Platinum Technology company –acquire later by Computer Associates in 2000- partner. We developed corporative DWH of ECOPETROL and TELECOM -public sector companies.- During the ECOPETROL project, GestionTek developed a product which inside ECOPETROL was named REPORTEADOR KCO. It was a software business tool to be used by strategist staff and decision takers without technical or technological skills. The product produced a economy for ECOPETROL by reducing work space costs from US$5.000 to US$180 approximately. By ends of 2000, GestionTek negotiate the purchase of this software product with ECOPETROL, changing the product name to ERPWizard®. The ERPWizard® became in the basis of our technology infrastructure for any IT project –private or public sector- we have been developed so far. In 2001, our company changed the corporate name and become GestionTek. This new name represents in a better way the company mission, summarized in the motto “IT to the Service of the Management”. GestionTek has worked in the development of his main product, ERPWizard®; which adjusts to customers’ special needs. The product supports the development of Management solutions based on CPM methodology and the improvement cycle of GestionTek.
